There’s no better way to get a real feel for a university than by seeing it for yourself. That’s why we always advise applicants and students thinking about higher education to come along to one of our Visit Days.
During a Visit Day there is plenty going on; you’ll get the opportunity to meet the team at UCS, including our Student Ambassadors who help out on the day.
Not only are they available for campus and accommodation tours, giving you a true student perspective of Shrewsbury, but they are also on-hand to answer any questions you may have about being a student at UCS yourself.
Two of our latest recruits – Amy Lloyd (BA English) and Charlotte Utting (BSc Medical Genetics), who both started in September 2016, may well be a couple of the friendly faces you see if you visit us on either of our two remaining Visit Days (Saturday 18th March and Saturday 8th April).
Here’s what they had to say about how they’ve found life at University Centre Shrewsbury since beginning commencing their course:
“The size of UCS really appealed to me. I feared I'd get lost in a larger uni with hundreds of students. UCS could provide an alternative, individually tailored experience. Meeting my amazing lecturers at a Visit Day confirmed my choice; they were so passionate, inspiring and friendly! I visited several other universities, but ultimately felt most comfortable here.
UCS really is like a family. All students and staff are friendly and supportive. Everyone on my course, for example, quickly grew close; we all see each other socially outside of lectures, and I couldn't imagine studying without any of them!
Being a student at UCS is an amazing, unique experience. As a relatively new, small university, the attention, support and facilities available put you in quite a privileged position. Student life outside of the university is great too; there are so many social, sporting, volunteering and work opportunities. I would recommend UCS to everyone looking to flourish at university. I certainly feel very lucky to study here.”
“I love the class sizes - you can get the help you need from lecturers much quicker! On top of that, there's always someone to turn to when you want something more, like a new society. They always listen!
Student life here is a lot of fun. Everyone is always friendly and it's like having a family away from home. I've already made friends I know will stick with me for years to come!”
If you haven’t already, why not book onto our upcoming Visit Days in March and April. It would be great to show you around.
