Applying for Accommodation

Applications for accommodation at University Centre Shrewsbury are made online, through our dedicated Pre Arrival Student Site (PASS). Applicants who have chosen Shrewsbury as either their Firm or Insurance choice will be sent details through the post of how to apply for accommodation online.

2017/18 Accommodation Applications

If you’ve selected Shrewsbury as either your firm or insurance choice, you will be sent information regarding accommodation in the post in April. As soon as you receive the information in the post, you will be able to apply online. From April onwards we’ll let you know the accommodation application deadline.

Following the application deadline, we will contact you to let you know the progress with your application. At this point, we should be able to confirm that a room has been reserved for you. Once your academic results are known and your place at the University has been confirmed, Shropshire Council (our accommodation partner) will endeavour to notify you of the actual room you have been allocated. For the majority of students, this will be around A-Level Results Day on Thursday 17th August 2017.

If we receive your application after the advised deadline, we will endeavour to process your application, but applications received before the deadline will take priority.

Allocation Policy

We aim to accommodate all first year students who apply for accommodation by the specific deadline date.

In the event that accommodation is oversubscribed, we will take the following criteria in to account:

  • Special needs or circumstances, e.g. special medical conditions and care learners.
  • University Centre Shrewsbury as your first choice of study.
  • Geographical location of your home base. Places are allocated to those who live furthest away from Shrewsbury.

If in the unlikely event that we are unable to offer you accommodation, we will do everything possible to assist you with securing alternative accommodation.
