Accommodation Application

University Centre Shrewsbury can offer accommodation to students who have applied through Clearing.

Our accommodation at Mardol House is in the heart of the town centre and just a short walk from Guildhall, the main teaching and learning space.

Our close-knit and friendly community is the perfect introduction to living away from home for the first time and is a great way to make new friends. Mardol house offers 86 secure en-suite residences over five floors. There’s a mix of self-catered flats and studio apartments alongside laundrette facilities and CCTV monitored outdoor bike racks.

Your step-by-step guide to applying for accommodation during clearing

Step 1: Register your interest

Register your interest in applying for accommodation.

If you are made an offer through Clearing, you will be emailed with further details of what to do next. When you receive this email, you should click on the link to register your interest in applying for accommodation. Once submitted, we will then send an email to the address you have provided, detailing your unique login details and instructions on how to apply for accommodation online.

Please allow up to two days for us to get back to you with this information. However, please note that all online accommodation enquiries submitted via this form will be responded to on a first-come, first-served basis.

Step 2: Apply online

Our Residential Living team will send you an email inviting you to make an online application for accommodation, together with your unique login details.

You’ll be asked to select whether you would like a Studio room or a Single room, so it’s a good idea to have a budget in mind and prioritise accordingly when making your selection.

Please note that applications for accommodation during Clearing will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis.  In order to be eligible to apply for accommodation, you must have already registered your interest in applying for accommodation, as detailed above in step one.

Step 3: Agree to terms and pay deposit

Please allow up to 5 days for your accommodation application to be processed.  Once your application has been processed, Shropshire County Council will contact you directly to advise on the outcome of your application, and provide you will full terms and conditions of any accommodation offer you are made.  Successful applicants will be asked to pay a deposit of £250.00 to secure the room
