Disabled Students

Our Disability Support team supports students with any physical/sensory impairment, mental health or specific learning difference (such as dyslexia) and any long-term health condition via a comprehensive package of information, advice and guidance. We can help with and advise on areas such as reasonable adjustments to teaching and learning, examination arrangements, and liaison with University departments.

How to find out if University Centre Shrewsbury is the right place for you:

  • Speak to one of our knowledgeable specialist Disability Support Officers to discuss your needs, and they will work with you to identify any reasonable adjustments that can be made to enable you to achieve your potential on your chosen programme of study. This is also an opportunity to discuss any funding you will be applying for, such as the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) should you be eligible. If eligible you will receive information about DSA when you apply for Student Finance, and we advise you to apply as early as possible as this process can take some time.

  • We strongly encourage you to visit before choosing University Centre Shrewsbury. We are very experienced in providing support and are keen to ensure that you have the best student experience during your time at Shrewsbury. So don’t hesitate to contact us.
