About the Event

The Romanian revolution, which saw the capture and execution of President Nicolae Ceausescu, took place 30 years ago, over the course of a few days in December 1989. British playwright, Caryl Churchill visited Romania four months after the events and conducted several interviews and collaborated with a theatre company in Bucharest. Her play, Mad Forest, is the result of the trip. We will discuss Churchill's play within the context of the 30th anniversary of the revolution.
