This is from Rachel, programme leader for our Social Work Apprenticeships:

I came to Shrewsbury for the first time almost 30 years ago and then moved to Shropshire in 1999 not long after my son was born, so I have seen many changes to Shrewsbury. I love the fact that although Shrewsbury is a town, it often feels like a large village, as walking down the street I always know someone to say hello to. This might be a friend, someone I know from work in and around Shrewsbury or someone who works in a shop that I have used for a long time. I love the fact that there are so many independent shops, restaurants and bars and of course the market. The market has really changed and has gone from strength to strength. I am a keen cook and so the range and quality of produce is fantastic. I also love the fact that Shrewsbury has become more diverse since I first came here, with new communities adding to and enriching the town.
