Course:

I chose UCS to be part of a small, close-knit community of students and experts, studying against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful and unique towns in the entire country. Both students and staff have always been very friendly and welcoming, and as a result I’ve made some amazing friends over the course of my three years at UCS.

Primary Education with QTS Graduate Callum was looking to study locally and through University Centre Shrewsbury he found welcoming staff, amazing friends and a vibrant community.

"As someone who is from the local area, I chose UCS to be part of a small, close-knit community of students and experts, studying against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful and unique towns in the entire country. Both students and staff have always been very friendly and welcoming, and as a result I’ve made some amazing friends over the course of my three years at UCS.

I would say I had a very positive relationship with my tutors across my whole time at UCS. They have always done their best to support both my wellbeing and my studies, and have made sure that the things we have learned at University have been able to be easily applied in a classroom environment. Everyone at the University has always been extremely supportive of both me and my fellow students to help us in our studies - the library and admin staff are often the unsung heroes of the University, and it's them who have helped us to find a particular book for an assignment, or point us in the right direction of the room we're supposed to be having our lecture in.

It's been a real privilege to study in Shrewsbury - as a local who has grown up without a University being in Shrewsbury, it has been wonderful to see UCS grow and flourish into a vibrant community of learners over the past three years, which is nothing but good news for this wonderful town. As I mentioned before, Shrewsbury is one of the most beautiful backdrops in the entire country to study a degree, and even as a resident of the town I’m still finding new little avenues and areas to explore in my free time."
